Hi everyone! I'm currently in Denver, since I had an interview yesterday and they flew me out. It's been an amazing opportunity, and I got to see my family. I fly back tonight, and hopefully go on the stage check list tomorrow for my stage check in the Piper Archer. I'll be spending all weekend studying, but I have a four day weekend to focus too. To continue the discussion from last week, I wanted to talk about different pilot jobs. We discussed other jobs in aviation, but there are multiple airplane pilot jobs too.
Commercial aviation! Being an airline pilot is what a lot of people think about when you say pilot. This isn't the only option though.
Corporate flying! Being a corporate flying offers a lot of fun opportunities and different experiences.
Cargo flying! Being a cargo pilot gives you the opportunity for lots of experiences and going new places. Plus, this is a great job for those who prefer different bases that commercial aviation may offer.
Flight instructing! Not all pilots fly from point A to point B for their job. Being a flight instructor gives you so many opportunities to learn and teach the new generation of aviators.
If you're unsure of what kind of flying you want to do, it's great to get involved and ask around. Mentors, academic advisors, and other pilots can help lead you on a path that will make you happy. Associations like the NBAA and EAA can also get you involved in speciality flying. There are so many different opportunities aviation has to offer!
