I'm finally out of quarantine! After spending two weeks at the La Quinta, all of my COVID tests came back negative and I was able to go home. I should be able to fly again sometime this week. Quarantine was a great time to get caught up on my homework and study for my written. I had two giant aviation projects, so I was able to focus on those and get them done way before the deadline.

While I'm waiting to fly, I want to get back into my discussion about clubs. Aviation clubs are a great resource for students to get involved. They offer new friends, resume builders, and a lot of networking opportunities. For me, I chose to get involved with clubs that I felt passionate about. Coming to UND as a LGBTQ+ female, women in aviation and national gay pilots association both welcomed me in.

There are a lot of other aviation clubs that schools have to offer. UND just opened a chapter of OBAP, which is the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals. There's also SAMA, which is a fun organization that helps plan the annual career fair. There are so many more clubs at aviation schools, which means there should be one interesting for every student.

Not only are there clubs, but also teams and competition. UND has a flying team and an aerobatic team that are very active in competitions. This is a great opportunity for students to get extra flight hours while being enrolled in school. Make sure to check out your aviation schools website to see all the clubs they have to offer!
